I'm sure many of you will know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is due to be released imminently and the buzz is already building online and in the games forums.

If you're planning on dominating the maps as soon as you start the game up for the first time then you should definitely master some of the basic gameplay stragegies right now. Many of them are valid across versions so load up on practice on whatever edition you have at the moment.

The only thing you wont be able to do is understand the maps and styles of play, like gun and weapon setups are only available in BO:2. You ought to make it a habit now to start using your radar more. This will keep you aware of where your enemies are and if they are approaching you. You'll have the upper hand when they eventually pop their heads around the corner.

Camping sucks and is not a very good style of play these days. Any good walkthrough will offer this same advice and go into a lot more detail about it. If you kill someone you should look to be on the move as soon as possible. If you stay put then your enemy will know precisely where to come back to and will find you instantly.

Try not to rush your gameplay. There could be anything around a corner like a bullet flying straight towards your face - not a pleasant experience for you huh. It is a classic newbie error but because you know it, you can take advantage of all the new players entering the game and doing that exact thing. Players who are new to CoD will naturally start hurtling around corners at full tilt letting you just stand off to the side picking them off. When you do pop them off, they're likely to just return over and over again forever making the same error, much to their frustration!

Hopefully all this talk of the new Black Ops 2 game is getting you fired up. The release date is not far away so you don't have long to wait now. Use these last opportunities to get in a load of practice and start thinking up your victory call now.
